County Seat Cruisers and HGA teamed up once again for the Third Annual Car Show in September. County Seat Cruisers has donated $1,000 to HGA and we want to express our deepest thanks! It is a great organization!
Return Day Open House
HAG will have an Return Day Open House in cooperation with the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, November 7 starting at 10 AM. The Train Station and First Fire House Museums will both be open for self guided tours and refreshments. County Seat Cruisers will also have several vehicles on display at he complex after the Return Day parade. Come join us to celebrate the end of the election season. There is no admission charge.
Large crowd at HGA's 3rd Annual Car Show
Our 3rd Annual Car Show was a huge success. In cooperation with County Seat Cruisers, HGA had 43 vehicles on display at our complex at the corner of Layton Ave. and Depot St. in Georgetown. Between 150-200 visitors showed up to look at the vehicles, enjoy scrapple sandwiches, hot dogs and other light refreshments provided by Boy Scout Troop 95, stop by our vendors, and tour the train station museum and First Fire House. Lance Mears, Georgetown, recently donated his time, materials, and talent to build a new ramp for HGA's garage. He also repaired steps on the back of Georgetown's First Fire House. We deeply appreciate his generosity!! It looks great and was much needed.
Open House and 3rd Annual Car Show
HGA will hold its 3rd annual Car Show and Open House on Saturday, September 14 from 9 AM to 2 PM. In lieu of that event, there will be no Open House on Saturday, September 7. Come view the cars, trucks and motorcycles, model trains, and museum displays. Troop 95 Scouts will be selling scrapple sandwiches in the morning and hot dogs, chips and sodas in the afternoon. Open House events well attended
The first two Open Houses for the Train Station and First Fire House May and June) have seen over 50 people attend. Rides on Lil Toot, model trains, historic photos, relics and memorabilia are enjoyed by all in these two historic Georgetown buildings. Next Open Houses are Saturday, August 3 and Saturday, September 7 Both are from Noon to 2 PM and there is no charge for admission.
Large turnout for June 4 Open House
HGA was glad to see a large turnout of visitors of all ages to their first 2024 Open House on Saturday, June 4. Adults and children enjoyed the model trains, museum artifacts and rides on Lil Toot. The next open House is Saturday, July 6 and we hope you will come see us.
Christmas in Georgetown has large turnout
HGA cooperated with Luis Rodriquez and Kevin Andrade in this years' "Christmas in Georgetown" event held on Saturday, December 16 from 3-6 PM. As expected, a large crowd turned out to see Santa, enjoy great food offerings, hear outstanding singing and ride Lil Toot. Thanks to all who worked so hard to make this a success. A special thanks to HGA's Tom Givens and Lisa Hershelman for a job well done.
Christmas at the Train Station is huge success
The 2023 Christmas at the Train Station event on Saturday, December 9 from 5-7 PM was a huge success. A large crowd of approximately 150 people came to enjoy Santa, the model trains, a light buffet, and Christmas carols. HGA thanks all those who made this event a great success.
